Kirill Yakovlev, 2025-26 season
Kirill Yakovlev
A 6'6" wing who debuted at sixteen. The Lions' long, athletic prospect in his second senior season.
Long, athletic and ahead of schedule.
Sixteen years old and a senior call-up. That was Yakovlev in 2024. He came up the Limerick Lions way and had already won three trophies with their U18s, so the Eagles took the gamble early. Looks a smart one.
He's a 6'6" wing, now into his second season with the seniors. Long, quick, still growing into himself, with the size to make life hard for older, stronger opponents. Ireland picked him for the U18 men's squad in 2024/25. He scored 13 the night the Eagles put 107 on Malahide, and he was part of a double-winning year that finished with promotion to the Super League.
One of the youngest in the room. One of the most interesting.
2025-26 with the Eagles
A second-season wing in the double-winning squad. Yakovlev reached double figures with 13 points in the 107–74 win over Malahide and featured across the campaign as the Eagles claimed the Cup and Division One double and promotion to the Super League.
