Danny Mooney arrived from Athlone for 2025-26, a competitor who was a standout at every age level with Athlone Basketball Club. His calling card is his shooting: give him a yard beyond the arc and he will knock it down.
He showed it across the season. Eight of Mooney's threes came in the league, and his best night was an 11-point outing against Team North West built on three triples. Back in pre-season he had five threes in a game at the Stuart Robbins tournament.
Range like that matters on a team that pushes the pace. When the Eagles needed someone to keep a defence spread, Mooney was a useful option off the bench through the double.
