The young one going places.

Limerick Lions product. Ireland youth international. Division One Young Player of the Year. Darragh Horkan fit a lot into a short space of time, and he is still only a teenager.

He is a forward who scores in bunches rather than in a steady trickle, and that is exactly what you want from a young player asked to provide a spark. The clearest example came against Malahide, when he top-scored with a game-high 24 points in a 107–74 win. When the Eagles needed someone to take over a stretch of a game, he was often the one doing it.

The grounding shows. Horkan played for Ireland at the 2024 FIBA U18 Men's Youth EuroBasket (Division B), fought through a knee injury at that level, and earlier averaged 11.8 points and 7.5 rebounds a game at the 2023 U16 Europeans. He was used to physical, structured basketball before he reached the senior league, and it shows in how he reads a possession and picks his moments. Give him the chance and he will hurt you.

“Division One Young Player of the Year, a brilliant recognition of all the hard work that's gone in this season.”
