The young one going places.

Darragh Horkan is one of the products of the Limerick Lions development system, an underage Ireland international at U16, U18 and U20 level. He was named Division One Young Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season.

He is a guard capable of big scoring performances. The clearest examples came against Malahide, where he top-scored with a game-high 24 points in a 107–74 win, and away to Killarney Cougars, where he hit a season high of 32 points. He often provided the offensive spark the Eagles needed, and was a menace on defence too, finishing fifth in the league for total steals.

Horkan played for Ireland at the 2024 FIBA U18 Men's Youth EuroBasket (Division B), fought through a knee injury at that level, and earlier averaged 11.8 points and 7.5 rebounds a game at the 2023 U16 Europeans. He was used to physical, structured basketball before he reached the senior league, and it shows in how he reads a possession and picks his moments.

“Division One Young Player of the Year, a brilliant recognition of all the hard work that's gone in this season.”
