Rob Taylor is remembered for the 2012 National Cup final. The UL Eagles and UCC Demons finished level at 64 apiece, forcing overtime, and Taylor landed the winning score to settle it, finishing the final with 29 points.
That Cup win was half of a double. The same UL Eagles squad went on to take the league title as well, and Taylor was part of the group that did it.
An American guard from Philadelphia, Taylor had played college basketball at Rider University before coming to Limerick. In that 2012-13 season he was named Superleague Player of the Month in November and led the league in steals at 2.7 a game.
