Mark Keenan
The coach who turned the UL Eagles into back-to-back champions of Ireland.
Mark Keenan.
Mark Keenan arrived as UL Eagles head coach in the summer of 2011, fresh from winning a SuperLeague title. With Limerick's own Jason Killeen back home that same summer, the pieces were in place for something special.
It came at once. In 2011-12 Keenan's side won the double, taking the National Cup in overtime and then the league, beating DCU Saints in the final at the National Basketball Arena for the city's first national league title. A year later the Eagles did it again, finishing top of the league at 16-5 to win back-to-back national titles. Two seasons, three trophies, and the best stretch in the club's history.
