Limerick lost 81-72 at home to Carrick Cruisers, a cold shooting night from deep proving costly.

Limerick Sport Eagles were beaten 81-72 at home by Carrick Cruisers in Division One. The shots would not drop from range and the Eagles could not claw back the deficit down the stretch.

Darragh Horkan was the bright spark with 19 points, three from three and four steals. Alex Carlisle added 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists, though he went 0-from-9 from beyond the arc on a frustrating night. Ajay Walsh gave the front line a lift with 11 points and six boards off the bench.

Ryan Leonard finished with 11 points and four steals but, like much of the team, struggled from outside. As a group the Eagles took too many threes that would not fall and Carrick made them pay.

A flat afternoon to follow a high. Days like this happen, and the squad will reset and go again next time out.
