Limerick Sport Eagles lost 79-85 away to Dublin Lions, unable to find a late run when they needed one.

Limerick Sport Eagles came up short on Saturday, beaten 79-85 by Dublin Lions on the road. The Eagles stayed in touch for long spells but could not get over the top of the home side, who had a little more in the closing minutes.

Alex Carlisle top-scored with 19 points and was perfect from the line, 7 from 7, adding two steals. Toby Christensen worked hard for 18 points and eight rebounds, and Ryan Leonard had 12 points, four assists and three steals. Daniel Shahab came off the bench for 10 points.

The shooting from distance was the issue. As a group the Eagles kept firing from three but the percentages would not drop, and against a side that took its chances that proved costly.

It is a result to park quickly. The regular season is nearly done and there is a play-off place to settle, so the focus turns straight to the next game and tidying up the things that let this one slip.
