TUS Mid-West.
A college link, a long-time supporter and a training home, TUS is woven into the Eagles pathway.
The Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Mid-West has long been part of the Limerick Sport Eagles story.
TUS Mid-West has been a long-time partner and sponsor of the club, a college-team link on the playing side, and the home of the TUS Sportshub training base where the Jr Eagles Academy runs its Saturday-morning sessions. Eagles star Alex Carlisle led TUS Mid-West to a Division One college title and was named College Player of the Year while studying there, a perfect example of the college and club working hand in hand.
The link runs both ways on the playing side too. Many of the Eagles squad come into Limerick on a TUS sports scholarship, combining a degree at TUS Mid-West with senior basketball at the club. It is a big part of how the Eagles bring talent into the city and keep it here: study at TUS, train with the Sportshub, and pull on the Eagles vest at the weekend. Alex Carlisle, who studied Business Management at TUS while top-scoring for the club, is the obvious example.
The TUS connection traces back to the club’s roots: LIT, later part of TUS, was one of the founding partners when the Limerick Sport Eagles were formed in 2019.
