Profile

One of our own.

When Ireland's U18s travelled to Pitesti for the 2025 FIBA U18 EuroBasket Division B, Darragh Horkan was their vice-captain. A wrist injury ruled him out of the basketball, so he led from off the court instead. The year before, he had played the same tournament in Skopje.

He had put in the work to get there. Horkan was a U16 international in 2022 and 2023, and in the 2023 campaign he averaged 11.8 points and 7.5 rebounds. He is a forward who stands 6 feet 2 inches.

Horkan came up through the Limerick Lions from the Under-8s and still plays for the club's Under-20 team. He now also lines out at senior level for the Limerick Sport Eagles, where he was named Young Player of the Year in the Domino's Men's Division One for 2025-26. His senior season is covered on his Eagles profile.
