Three signings, one week. The Eagles have made a brisk start to their 2025–26 recruitment, with two new faces and a returning leader already over the line.
Toby Christensen leads them in. He is into his fifth season in Ireland, with six trophies in the last three years and a Domino's Super League title last season with Blue Demons. Known across the league as one of its best rebounders, he isn't shy about why he's here. “Big season ahead,” he said, “with only one focus. Silverware.”
Alex Carlisle stays put for year two. Last season the American guard averaged 27.6 points, third best in the league, picked up College Player of the Year and led TUS Mid-West to a Division One college title. “Ready to get to work,” he said.
The third name, confirmed today, is Ryan Leonard. He was Super League Young Player of the Year back in 2017, spent five years playing college ball in the States, and came home to Garvey's Tralee Warriors in 2023, where he was named Super League Player of the Month that December. He carries Irish caps at youth and senior level too. “I can't wait to meet all my teammates and, of course, the fans really soon,” Leonard said.
It's a young squad getting some serious experience around it. More names to come before the season tips off.
