There is a particular sound a school sports hall makes when it is full of kids and basketballs, and St Munchin's College will have plenty of it over the Easter break.

The Eagles' camp lands there on 8 and 9 April. Running the floor are Alex Carlisle and Ryan Leonard, both of whom pull on the blue jersey for the senior side most weekends. The same pair took the February mid-term camp at the venue, so they know the room. Leonard is in Ireland's senior squad for the EuroBasket 2029 pre-qualifiers, and Carlisle has carried a fair share of the scoring this season. For a young player in Limerick, getting an hour off a senior international is not a bad way to spend a day off school.

It comes at a good time for the club. The seniors are top of their conference and through to the play-off semi-finals after seeing off Tolka Rovers at UL Arena. The drill at the camp is much the same as it always is: shooting, footwork, small-sided games, and a fair bit of messing in between.

Here is what a parent needs. Two days, 8 and 9 April, at St Munchin's College. Boys and girls, 6 to 16. The younger ones train in the morning, the older group in the afternoon. It is €50 a head, and places are capped, so the hall only holds so many. To put a name down, email limericksporteagles@gmail.com.
